What Makes Us Unique

Intimate small groups

We like to think of small group holidays as the best way to explore the Amazon rain forest. That’s why we limit our group to no more than 9 travelers. For a more unique, quite, personal experience of wildlife and solitude, we spend more time in each spot, so you can explore, relax and unwind at your own pace.

Tree Climbing Knowledge and Group Training

No prior climbing experience is necessary. Ascending the tree is comparable to hiking a steep trail with a day pack. Our expert guides outfit you in specially designed tree climbing harnesses appropriately adjusted for your personal size. When the climb takes place, our guides will provide for the adequate training of members during the initial phase of the journey. Before you embark on an experience with us, we ask about your medical information. From this point, Tropical Tree Climbing’s team evaluates the best way to give each customer the best experience and help them enjoy the canopy climbs as much as possible.

Journey Experts

Accompanying each journey is a diverse team of experts–from naturalists to regional specialists — who will share their knowledge and insights on the wildlife, landscapes and local culture.

Tropical Tree Climbing is Wildlife Conservation Society Partner

Working in alliance with the Wildlife Conservation Society, Tropical Tree Climbing also aims to leave behind a positive legacy, from supporting conservation projects in the Amazon – such as jaguar population monitoring and ecological research – to joining an international effort to safeguard the third largest cat in the world, by exploring, surveying, and establishing jungle protected areas.

Day1 – Ascend into the Canopy

Before the climb takes place, our guides will take you to dinner at the Tropical Tree Climbing Guest House. We ascend into the canopy as night falls to settle in for a special evening under the stars and your guide will be alongside you ascending into the canopy.

High in the tree, there will be a canvas Treeboat equipped with mosquito nets waiting for you to rest, relax, stretch and take in the majesty of the canopy in peace. A Treeboat is a heavy-duty canvas hammock that is safely and securely tied to the tree and your safety rope remains locked and secured, permitting you to relax and enjoy your overnight slumber in this marvelous tree top canopy. This is a pleasant destination for your climb, giving you optimal comfort. The Treeboats are constructed with a 2” thick air mattress providing a comfortable nights sleep.

Day2 – Return to the Guest House

Morning is a gentle, sleepy time in the canopy as the music of the birds in the forest awakes around you. When you awake aloft in the breathtaking tree tops, you will be overlooking spectacular forest views. Enjoy your breakfast at the Guest House and free time to relax.

To sleep at the tree top there are many conditions that need to be met, these include weather and nocturnal activity in the jungle. Whilst we are able to assist with all necessary and have an approximate idea of when the activity is due to take place during your stay with us, we cannot be held responsible for inclement weather. Amazon weather can be unpredictable and whilst we chase for clear skies sometimes there are simply none on a given day. It is therefore, important to have realistic expectations of what your tour guides can achieve. To reduce the risk of cancellation we only offer this activity from July to September.
